PBT Works s.r.o., a leading manufacturer of cleaning technologies for electronic modules and instruments, is pleased to announce that Vladimir Sitko, founder, mentor and co-owner, will present during the 4 Days of Space Passive Components scheduled to take place on Friday , October 14, 2022 in the Netherlands. Sítko will present “Details Matter. How can a designer help make assemblies easier to clean?’

Reliability is the main concern of electronic modules in many applications today. Long life requirements and the ability to operate in severe environments require the removal of flux residues and other surface contamination in most such special assemblies.

PBT Works has more than 30 years of experience in building cleaning machines and optimizing the cleaning process of electronic modules. The team has seen many difficult-to-clean nodes during this period. Only small, almost “invisible” design details caused fundamental challenges in removing flux residue. In particular, the bottom end components of small loops must apply special design rules that may not be included in standard CAD design libraries. In terms of cleaning, PBT Works considers even common chips (resistors, capacitors, and other passive components) to be bottom terminated as well.

The details mentioned in the presentation are not included in any standards, simply because there is no standard for such situations. Most design standards come from the era before the implementation of bottom-end components. Also, they rely on UNCLEAN processes.

However, the information included in this presentation is based on the main international PCB assembly standards, optical and electrical inspection criteria, and standardized electrochemical tests for assembly cleanliness.

PBT Works sro was founded by Vladimir Sitko, former CEO and now mentor and co-owner. Today, his son Robert Sitko is the CEO and co-owner of the company. PBT Works has more than 80 employees and is considered one of the world’s top manufacturers of electronic assembly cleaning machines and tools.

PBT Works is EN ISO 9001 and EN ISO 14001 certified. For more information visit www.pbt-works.com.
