One of the most successful horror movie franchises of the last 20 years is coming to a gaming system near you. Paramount Game Studios teamed up with DreadXP and DarkStone Digital (aka solo developer Brian Clark) to create Paranormal Activity: Found Footage. It is slated to hit multiple platforms in 2026.
Paranormal Activity: Found Footage will build on the lore and world created in the seven-film series that debuted in 2007. It will be the first .
As the title suggests, the game will use the format of found footage from the movies. However, details are few for now Paranormal Activity: Found Footage will feature what is said to be an advanced “chase system” that will dynamically change the intensity and types of fear players will encounter based on their actions. Several other games have used a dynamic scare system, including (an early access title that caused some buzz a few months ago), so it will be interesting to see how DarkStone Digital uses it here.
Clark previously created the well-revised first-person horror game . “My latest project is a paranormal activity game,” Clark, who is also co-director of publisher DreadXP, wrote to X. “I’m extremely excited to be doing this as I’ve loved this series from the start and it has greatly shaped my horror style.”
