PENSACOLA, FL (WKRG) – A teenager from Pensacola, accused of killing his mother in April, plans to confess to insanity.
David Olson, 18, is in Escambia County Jail without bail.
This week, his lawyer filed a petition with the intention of relying on the defense for insanity.
The proposal says Olson has diagnosed a psychotic disorder, a mood disorder, severely impaired mental processes, an adjustment disorder and reduced cognitive, emotional and personal control.
Olson told lawmakers that his parents had recently separated and feared his mother would leave him.
