Aico have expanded their educational offer with the launch of their City & Guilds Assured qualification for home fire and carbon monoxide (CO) alarm systems.

Aico brings education to the forefront by promoting best practices and providing a range of free training for their UK supply chain. To further support its customers, Aico is proud to present its City & Guilds Assured qualification, a global benchmark for quality that recognizes excellence in teaching and learning.

The qualification is a continuation of Aico’s training for FIA-accredited expert installers, which provides installers with the basic knowledge of the proper installation of Aico’s fire and carbon monoxide alarm systems and sensors.

To provide participants with a detailed understanding, this one-day course, AA2426-01, focuses on the design, installation, maintenance, interconnection, deployment and electrical connection of Aico home alarm systems. The qualification includes a mix of theory and practice sessions and ends with a multiple choice assessment that must be successfully completed in order to win the City & Guilds qualification.

Duncan Orr, Regional Specifications Manager for NI & IOM and Head of Supply Chain Training, commented: “At Aico, we are passionate about education. This is the cornerstone of our business, with tens of thousands of participants receiving our award-winning, FIA-accredited expert installer training. In an ever-changing and fast-moving landscape, the AA2426-01 course, assured by City & Guilds, builds on this foundation and takes our educational offer to the next level. It is our privilege to bring this qualification, guaranteed by City and Guilds Assured, to market and to continue to promote the raising of standards, knowledge and competence in the life safety industry. ”

AA2426-01 will officially launch on Friday, May 6, with the first session taking place at the Aico Center of Excellence in Oswestry and will be hosted by a member of their expert technical team.

To qualify for the City & Guilds Assured qualification, participants must have completed Aico training for expert installers and be a member of the Aico Installer community, a connected online platform designed to support expert installers.
