Apple may finally release the successor to the AirPods Pro as part of the product line for the fall of 2022, according to an Apple reporter with good connections.

In its latest version Included newsletter, Mark German of Bloomberg said that Apple will release “new AirPods Pro in the fall.”

Gourmet thinks the time is right because the first buyers of AirPods Pro already have a three-year-old pair of genuine wireless headphones and “so the batteries are already in trouble for some early users.”

It’s hard to believe that three years have passed since Apple first launched AirPods Pro in 2019, but rumors of their successor have been circulating almost since. In fact, most Apple events in the last few years have seen a new version of the audio accessory.

Given that so much time has passed, now it is likely that those looking for an upgrade or purchase for the first time will probably see some major improvements.

This could be a redesign that will remove the signal stems – already shortened for the first Pro model – as well as improved noise suppression features, possible support for high-definition audio thanks to a new audio codec and even more health tracking features.

In addition to AirPods Pro 2, Apple may also give AirPods Max a new coat of paint later this year, according to Gourmet. Although he did not say what colors will be available other than pink, sky blue, silver, green and space gray, currently available.
