Principle of operation of the ball valve

· Gland packing

· Seat ring

The seat is among the global components to seal the space between the stem and the hood. It can be screwed into the valve or rotated. Also known as a seat ring, it offers a stable and backup closing surface. The seat rings will be firmly attached to the cage.

· Stem

The valve stem is known for properly positioning the disc and offering the necessary disc, ball or plug movements to open or close the valve. It is a ball valve component connected to the handwheel of the valve actuator to transmit the actuating force.

The stem can connect the actuator to the parts within the valve among the main parts. The stem controlled by the actuator is smooth while the manual step valve is threaded.

· Disc

The disc or plug is also among the main parts of the valve components. It tends to move perpendicular to the seat and can block or release flow due to its functions as a movable physical barrier. When the valve is closed, it allows the material to flow. Various disc devices along with composite type, needle type are designed for the ball valves.

Hybrid disc comes with better closure while you need to use the ball in low temperature and low pressure systems. Compared to the other two, the needle disk offers better throttling.

· Body

The valve body is the main structure that holds everything together. It contains all the internal parts of the valve, allowing control of the substance to be regulated. The body port comes with the parts to allow fluid flow to the valve.

· Cell

It is designed to surround the foot and plug within the valve. The cell is among the control flow inside the valve. The material flow in the valve depends on the design and placement of the openings.

Using a globe valve

Assembly valves will be useful due to applications that help regulate flow, but constant fluid flow is not required. Below are examples of typical ball valve applications.

  • Water cooling systems in which the flow is regulated
  • A fluid system that regulates flow and offers leak protection capabilities is extremely important.
