There have not been many rumors about AMD’s revised RDNA2 GPUs. We decided that they would arrive before the summer, but we didn’t have much information about what had changed, except for the usual suspects: higher watches and faster memory. New reports say the GPUs are pretty close and should be released next week. Their specifications have also been confirmed and AMD was clearly not afraid to add a little extra to the full range.
It is unclear when the upgraded GPUs will be officially released. However, according to Wccfetech they seem to be slight upgrades to several of the company’s existing GPUs. This is not a small thing against AMD; Nvidia did the same with its Super and Ti variants. AMD’s new troops will fight Nvidia’s existing product line, in particular the RTX 3090 Ti and RTX 3060/3070. Interestingly, AMD is increasing the total card power (TBP) of the cards by a decent amount. However, it appears that the existing cooling mechanisms of high-end cards have been over-designed, as they do not appear to have been altered.

The flagship RX 6950 XT will receive a 35W TBP increase over the RX 6900 XT. This will make it a 335W GPU, which is still 115W less than its direct competitor, the RTX 3090 Ti. It will include the same 5120 stream processors as the 6900 XT, but will have faster memory and four percent higher hours. On the memory side, its 16GB GDDR6 is upgraded from 16Gb / s to 18Gb / s modules. It will include the same 128MB Infinity Cache as the previous model, for an effective 3x increase in memory bandwidth. It will be a fascinating battle between David and Goliath. Nvidia’s GPU is $ 1999 (minimum) and 450W. We don’t know the prices for the AMD card yet, but since the RX 6900 XT is $ 999, we guess it will cost around $ 1399 or so.
There will be no revised RX 6800 XT, so the next card in the range is the RX 6750 XT. This GPU gets a 20W increase compared to its predecessor, making it a 250W GPU. Like the rest of the GPU, its stream processor is unchanged at 2560. It will get three percent higher clock speeds and faster memory than 18Gb / s. It has 96MB Infinity Cache, providing 1.3TB of memory bandwidth. For context, the RTX 3070 is a 220W GPU, while the RTX 3070 Ti is a 290W GPU. The RX 6750 XT will naturally land somewhere between these GPUs and requires dual 8-pin power connectors.

Finally we come to the RX 6650 XT, which will take the RTX 3060 / Ti. This was the original “main” GPU in the family for only $ 379. The Baby Navi card also gets a 20W increase in TBP, which brings it up to 180W. It will offer 8GB 18Gb / s GDDR6 and requires a single eight-pin power connector. It will receive an improved cooling device with two fans. The previous version had only one fan.
Although AMD’s reference designs sound powerful, its partner cards will be even more traditional. For example, the Sapphire RX 6950X Toxic specification has expired via Chiphell. It displays additional OC Bios, which shows that it is a 346W GPU with a maximum gain of 2565Mhz. This is a surprising 255Mhz overclock above the reference value. Also, Wccfetech also released preliminary synthetic benchmarks for GPUs. They show that the flagship 6950XT beats the RTX 3090 Ti, making it an obvious successor in the world of GPUs.
