Most of us have more than one device that we need to charge every day. Whether it’s the countless devices we use on a daily basis, the pile of gadgets used by your partner and kids, keeping everything charged can sometimes feel like a chore.
Multi-port charging devices are starting to become the norm. But these multi-port chargers need to be smart to efficiently and quickly charge whatever is plugged into them.
Anker’s latest technology combines the size and efficiency of gallium nitride (GaN) chargers with proprietary PowerIQ 4 technology. The result is GaNPrime.
GaNPrime achieves a maximum power of 100W to any single device. Using built-in intelligence, the GaNPrime charger can identify which connected device has the lowest battery level and charge it first, followed by the next lowest level and so on.
Anker claims the new technology can achieve peak efficiency of 97% and energy savings of up to 25%. The higher the efficiency, the less energy is needed to charge your devices – which is good for both your electricity bill and the planet. Win, win.
We still don’t know what the chargers look like, how much they’ll cost, or what variants Anker will release. However, we won’t have to wait long to find out.
Anker has already announced that it will be holding a virtual launch event next Monday, July 25th at 9am PT/12pm ET. The event will be streamed Anker’s website, YouTube as well as the company’s social media accounts.
I’m excited to see what Anker comes up with with their new GaNPrime technology. Charging is the only obstacle for all kinds of technology, and anything that makes this process faster and more efficient, I’m all for it.
