Apple has informed developers that it will soon raise App Store prices in several countries, including all countries that use the euro.

However, Europe is not the only place where prices will rise. Apple also notes that prices will increase in Chile, Egypt, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Poland, South Korea, Sweden and Vietnam.

The changes are due to take place no earlier than October 5, 2022, and will include app pricing and in-app purchases, but exclude auto-renewing subscriptions.

The note includes a section explaining changes specific to Vietnam.

β€œIn Vietnam, these increases also reflect the new regulations for Apple to collect and remit applicable taxes, such as Value Added Tax (VAT) and Corporate Income Tax (CIT) at a rate of 5% respectively.”

When a price increase occurs, Apple will update the Pricing and Availability section of My Apps. Developers will be able to change the price of their apps and in-app purchases if they see fit.

Apple recently began contacting developers to encourage them to purchase advertising space in the App Store due to an upcoming slot expansion.
