It’s been a busy day for Apple news, but the company has plenty of other M-series devices, including the iMac. Apple put M3 chips into its desktops, and now the base version of the 2023 iMac is cheaper than ever. Thanks to an Amazon coupon (don’t forget to clip it!), you can buy an iMac with an M3 chip, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of SSD storage for. The deal is available on the silver, pink, green and blue versions of the system.

One word of caution: while this looks like a decent deal, we think the specs on the base 2023 iMac aren’t quite up to snuff. It’s hard to seriously recommend a computer with only 8GB of RAM these days as applications become more and more demanding. That’s why the iMac didn’t score higher than 86.
On the plus side, the M3 chipset is very fast and the iMac’s display remains great. Even though it’s a desktop system, it’s lightweight, so it’s not too difficult to move from one room to another or prop it up on something – not being able to adjust the screen vertically is a little disappointing.
There are some caveats to keep in mind here, but if you’re looking for a nice, fairly new PC for relatively basic tasks (you won’t be doing much gaming or video editing on a system with these specs) and you don’t mind splashing out a bit of cash, then this iMac might work for you.
