New Delhi: Zomato-owned Blinkit on Thursday announced that it is delivering printouts to your doorstep in 11 minutes, a move that will benefit both parents and working professionals. The 10-minute delivery platform acquired by Zomato for Rs 4,447 crore (about $568 million) and the foreign exchange facility is now available in some areas. Grofers rebrands to Blinkit, provides 10-minute grocery delivery.

“I have never had a printer at home and getting one from a cyber cafe, library, neighbors or offices has always been cumbersome, especially when needed at a time when deadlines are looming,” said Jitesh Goel, product at Blinkit.

“It should be really useful, especially at the rates it’s being offered at. You just need to upload the file and we will deliver it to you in minutes. And we will delete the uploaded file after delivery. Try it out and share your feedback,” he said in a LinkedIn post.

The new platform service arrives as Zomato is ready to experiment with cross-using its customer base for Blinkit and vice versa.

“We will also start working on back-end integration of the delivery fleet, which should lead to higher delivery efficiency over time,” Zomato founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal said recently.

Technology integrations between the two companies will accelerate the pace of progress on both ends, he added. According to the company, losses for Blinkit are decreasing every month, from 2,040 million rupees (about $26 million) in January 2022 to 929 million rupees ($12 million) in July.

The company said Blinkit has also closed a number of non-viable dark stores that don’t scale, and the team will continue to evaluate non-performing stores. In just six months, Blinkit’s business has reached 20 percent of Zomato’s food delivery GOV while being present in less than 15 cities.
