Epic Games Store has launched its “Mega Sale” for 2022, promising a new free game every week for four weeks along with discounts throughout the window. The first of these freebies is the extremely successful Gearbox Borderlands 3 shooter and is available until May 26.
To win a copy of this triple A title, you’ll need to have an Epic Games account and, using the store’s desktop client, “purchase” the game (for $ 0 / £ 0) to add it to your account. Now it’s yours to keep!
As a major competitor to Steam’s online computer game store, the Epic Games Store took the stage at the end of 2018 and made a name for itself with its frequent free gifts – something it intends to pursue in 2022.
In many cases, these free gifts were far from vague or small titles, including big games like Prey, Control and Total War: Warhammer, as well as popular indie titles like Celeste, Hyper Light Drifter, Limbo and Super Meat Boy.
All this means that it is worth taking an account and keeping up with these free offers, because even if you do not have a computer that can run some of these games now that you get one, you will have loaded games, the library is ready for work.
Does Borderlands 3 cost $ 0?
Obviously, yes. More importantly, is it worth your time? Still, yes. We gave the game four stars in our review, praising its vast arsenal of weapons and deep RPG systems, but noted that her attempts at comedy were not particularly funny.
Personally, I played Borderlands 3 for the first time a few months ago (before the Elden Ring dominated all my free time) and it performed one particular role very well for me: pointless action. For those looking for chaotic, fast first-person shooting to jump fast, pick up this game.
There is also depth, if you will. As with any Borderlands title so far, you choose a class to start with, and from there invest points in different skill trees, as well as equip shields and items that harmonize with your abilities. This can change quite dramatically the way the game is played, moving from a bigger striker with a big far, to a brawler among them.
After playing each record in the series, the improvements in quality of life accumulated over the decade since Borderlands’ first title should be applauded – the movement is smooth, the action is relentless and each weapon feels satisfactory to master (even the cheap beginner kit ).
That said, the enjoyment of the game relies heavily on your ability to block its narrative, as well as much of the dialogue. Borderlands 3 continues the vulgar (and childish) humor of the series, but has far fewer redemptive moments than its predecessors in both history and jokes.
