Classic first-person shooter Quake is now playable on Apple Watch.

YouTuber MyOwnClone revealed how he ported the 1996 shooter to the Apple Watch Series 5, with a digital crown as well as touchscreen controls. Titled “Porting Quake 1 to Apple Watch,” the video is two minutes long and gives an in-depth look at the porting and achievements made on the smartwatch.

MyOwnClone continued Hacker news site and explained the methodology behind the port. He mentioned that he built existing Mac and iOS ports, with tweaks to optimize them for watchOS. Quake I runs at 640×480 and 60fps, with an option to get higher resolution at a lower fps.

The gate building process is available to watch on YouTube and it is also available on GitHub as well. Installing Quake 1 will require compiling the Quake assets, Xcode and Mac code.
