CommonWell TV 2022: Due to Interop until 2030

During CommonWell TV 2022, we took a page from the U.S. Health and Human Services Office of the National Health IT Coordinator and he asked our members to speculate on the future of interoperability by asking them to complete this statement:

Due to the interaction, by 2030

Read below about their reactions and watch this year’s CommonWell TV videos here.

Personalized medicine will improve significantly. Remote monitoring of patients will take place at different levels. Patients’ ownership of data and understanding will increase, so there will be a huge influx of solutions that allow people to use and improve their health by 2030.

-Venkat Timmarayu, Founder and CEO, Oprable

What is more important is not what will happen, but what needs to happen. For the next eight years, I would like to think that patients and provider organizations should expect that health information is basically available when they seek it, and that there is no question of whether or not they will use it. Always used.

– Scott Stew, President and CEO, DirectTrust

Healthcare will be much better. It will be about providing data at the place of care, allowing efficiency in patient care and, just as importantly, making decisions for providers.

-GP Singh, Vice President of Interoperability Solutions, ELLKAY

The cost curve will bend and the poor results associated with closed systems will be a thing of the past. What CommonWell is doing, and what interoperability will help us do, is bend that curve. The ability to have past clinical records to manage future care plans will have a direct impact on care outcomes.

-Navin Gupta, Senior Vice President, Home and Hospice, MatrixCare

For me, innovation becomes possible when you get the right basic infrastructure.

– Scott Afzal, President, Audacious Inquiry

I hope we never say the word again! I hope interoperability is a term that is disappearing. Understanding the right information in the right place and the right time so that suppliers can make their art – interoperability is the answer. In 2030, I hope we will not discuss it again.

– John Elwell, CEO, Kno2

We are talking about innovations in the consumer experience. We need to ask ourselves this question: why is interaction important in the beginning? This is not an end in itself, but rather what type of experience it unlocks for consumers. We also know that making these tools and this fluid data will dramatically change the landscape and allow innovators to build the next generation of products using data.
