Do-it-yourself aluminum cold plates from Advanced Thermal Solutions allow engineers to safely drill holes in a mounting model that matches the target hot device. Once the correct layout and design has been determined, ATS can produce a custom cold prototype or production board.
DIY cold plates offer the same thermal efficiency as the company’s standard family of cold plates. According to ATS, cold plates provide 30% better thermal performance than other commercially available cold plates. The internal mini-channel structure of the fins ensures a uniform temperature on the surface of the cold plate. In addition, the plates are compatible with industry-accepted coolants and have been tested for leaks of up to 100 psi.
DIY cold plates give engineers the freedom to drill holes to match specific connection points of the refrigerated device, such as IGBT, MOSFET and other power electronics. Each plate includes an engraved area without drilling to provide a visual guide to shutting down. DIY cold plates are suitable for a wide variety of applications where air cooling is insufficient, including EV motorcycles, military vehicles, commercial aircraft, electric vehicles and high-performance computers.
The series of cold DIY plates includes five devices of different sizes. View datasheets and check distributor inventory using the link to the product page below.
