Energizer Hard Case P28K phone with 28,000mAh battery shown at MWC 2024

Avenir Telecom — which holds the license to the Energizer brand — showed off the Hard Case P28K smartphone with a massive 28,000mAh battery at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona on Monday (February 26). The European company claims the battery will provide up to a week of battery life with regular use on a single charge. This 28,000mA battery will be the largest battery ever fitted to a smartphone. The Energizer P28K hard case has a rugged design and is IP68 rated for dust and water resistance. It sports a 6.78-inch display and has a triple rear camera setup.

Brand licensee Energizer showcased the Energizer Hard Case P28K smartphone with a massive 28,000 mAh battery during MWC 2024. The rugged smartphone’s battery, which is significantly larger than any other smartphone on the market, is said to last a full week on regular use single charge use. The phone has an IP68 rating and a 6.78-inch full-HD+ screen.

Paris-based Avenir Telecom packs a triple rear camera module on the Energizer Hard Case P28K. The camera setup consists of a 60-megapixel primary camera, a 20-megapixel secondary sensor, and a 2-megapixel sensor. For selfies and video chats, there is a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. The camera can record video in 4K quality. It also has 4G LTE connectivity and the company provides a three-year warranty for the device.

According to a report from The Verge, the Energizer Hard Case P28K smartphone will go on sale in October with a starting price of €250 (roughly Rs. 22,000). It will reportedly deliver up to 122 hours of talk time and a maximum of 2,252 hours (or 94 days) of standby time on a single charge. The large battery reportedly adds 27.8mm of thickness and 570g of weight to the smartphone, making it significantly thicker than most other devices today.

Avenir previously introduced the Energizer P18K Pop with an 18,000mAh battery at MWC 2019 and the Energizer Power Max P16K Pro with a 16,000mAh battery in 2018. However, both phones failed to see a consumer release.
