Gigamon Inc. appointed Mark Coates Vice President of the EMEA. With over 25 years of experience inside and outside the IT and security industry, Coates will lead the EMEA team in support of changing customer requirements as they seek to create a secure digital infrastructure and reduce operating costs associated with hybrid cloud environments. This significant regional appointment coincides with the global company’s announcement that Shane Buckley is now CEO and President of Gigamon, after four years as Chief Operating Officer to lead the organization’s next evolution in the emerging market of deep observability.

Prior to joining Gigamon, Coates held senior management positions at Digital Realty, Dtex Systems, Veritas Software Corporation / Symantec and Good Technology. As the European cloud market grows at a significant pace, Coates’ experience and understanding of both the technical and operational issues currently facing CIOs means that he is ideally placed to support Gigamon in market education. on the importance of deep observability and its role in enhancing the power of cloud, security and surveillance instruments.
