Huawei is getting rid of all American components

Huawei replaced most American components

Shanghai Jiao Tong University published a transcript of Ren’s speech. In his speech, he said that in the past three years, Huawei has replaced more than 13,000 of its product components with home-made components. The company has also redesigned 4,000 boards for its own products.

Ren also said that Huawei has invested an amount of US$23.8 billion in research and development in 2022. The company will continue to invest more money in research and development as profit increases, Ren added.

Huawei has also built its own enterprise resource planning system, according to Ren. This system is called MetaERP, which the company plans to launch in April. This system will help manage the company’s core business functions, supply chain and manufacturing operations.

Huawei has no plans to compete with ChatGPT

Ren also said that Huawei has no plans to launch a competing system of AI tools such as ChatGPT. However, he said that Microsoft, the biggest investor in OpenAI, will not be the only dominant force in this category. However, Huawei will focus on being the main platform that powers AI.
