Levels of employment of cybersecurity in the railway industry increased in April 2022

The share of companies delivering railway equipment, products and services hired for cybersecurity positions increased in April 2022 compared to the equivalent month last year, with 37.3% of the companies included in our analysis , have hired for at least one such position.

This latest figure is higher than 32.4% of companies that hired for cybersecurity jobs a year ago, but is down from 38.5% in March 2022.

As for the percentage of all vacancies related to cybersecurity, related job postings decreased in April 2022, with 1.7% of newly published job postings related to the topic.

This last figure was an increase compared to 0.9% of newly announced jobs, which were related to cybersecurity in the equivalent month a year ago.

Cybersecurity is one of the topics that GlobalData, from which our data for this article is taken, identified as a key destructive force facing companies in the coming years. It is believed that companies that stand out and invest in these areas now are better prepared for the future business landscape and better prepared to survive unforeseen challenges.

Our data analysis shows that companies delivering railway equipment, products and services currently employ cybersecurity at a rate lower than the average for all companies in the GlobalData job analysis database. The average value among all companies was 3.1% in April 2022.
