Lee County, Alabama (WRBL) – The trial in Lee County ended with the conviction of a man accused of hiding in front of the window of a Auburn woman’s bedroom and recording her as she undressed.

On Friday, the Lee County District Attorney’s Office announced that Trevor Coffer, 26, had been found guilty of four counts of voyeurism, first instance by a Lee County jury.

According to the district prosecutor’s office, voyeurism is a first-degree crime against the victim’s privacy. This occurs when the perpetrator captures or photographs the intimate parts of the victim’s body without the victim’s knowledge and consent, in a place where the victim expects privacy, and the purpose of the recording is to sexually satisfy the defendant or another person. Voyeurism, first degree, is a Class C crime punishable by one year and one day to ten years in prison.

The trial was prosecuted by Senior Prosecutor Katie Berardi.

Evidence presented during the trial of Kofer shows that he was arrested after being caught by the victim’s boyfriend. The boyfriend found Coffer standing in front of the woman’s bedroom window and recording her with his cell phone.

According to witnesses, during a search of Coffer’s phone, Auburn police repeatedly found that Coffer had recorded the victim in his bedroom while undressing.

In addition, according to the district attorney’s office, the victim did not know Kofer, who lives nearby.

Suitcase will be convicted at a later date.
