Meta Platforms is considering cutting the money it gives to news organizations as it re-evaluates the partnerships it has made over the past few years, according to people familiar with the matter. The revaluation comes as Meta seeks to reduce costs in general and rethinks the value of including news in its flagship Facebook app.

Meta’s Facebook and Instagram apps have recently focused on expanding their short-term video offerings to compete more effectively with TikTok. At the same time, the social media company has noticed fewer people clicking on links to news articles since President Donald Trump left office, people said.
