Meta is testing cross-posting from Instagram to Threads

Meta is testing a new way to increase engagement in Threads using Instagram. The company is now testing the ability to cross-post Instagram photos to Threads. Meta confirmed the experiment afterwards Theme users setting pops up on Instagram (TechCrunch was the first who report the change).

According to the company, cross-posting from Instagram to Threads is optional, although users can choose to have all new photos automatically shared to their Threads account as well. (Those who are part of the test can change the cross-posting settings in the Instagram app.)

Meta is testing a number of features to drive the growth of Threads that currently have users. The company is also experimenting with cross-posting to Threads, and Threads posts directly to Facebook and Instagram feeds, regardless of whether they use the app. It also encourages creators to be more active in the app. Meta was to the creators in exchange for high performing Threads posts.
