Microsoft has officially announced the next Xbox Games Showcase. In a blog post, the company said the summer release will be on Sunday, June 9 at 10:00 AM PT / 1:00 PM ET.

The event will be followed by a mysterious “[REDACTED] Direct”, which is probably not much of a mystery. The teaser logo looks like something ripped from the Call of Duty franchise and is already being reported aimed at the next part of the military shooter will arrive this year. Microsoft describes the live event as “a special deep dive into the next installment of a beloved franchise.”

Further crushing any intrigues, On the edge says it has been confirmed that the event will focus on the long-running Activision-Blizzard franchise. This will be Xbox’s first launch with the Call of Duty maker officially in Microsoft’s hands.

The company wants to draw attention to its new portfolio after the acquisition, and Xbox will use the entire week (which coincides with Summer Game Fest) to improve its lineup. “The June 9th double feature also kicks off a week of coverage here on Xbox Wire and The Official Xbox Podcast, featuring updates and deep dives on a ton of games,” the company wrote.
