Microsoft Copilot for Security, a cybersecurity-focused AI Chatbot, will launch on April 1

Microsoft Copilot for Security has finally been given a launch date, the company announced on Wednesday. The cybersecurity-focused artificial intelligence (AI)-powered chatbot will be made generally available next month. Copilot for Security targets businesses and organizations to protect them from breaches and hacking attempts. It was first announced by the tech giant in March 2023, and a year later the company made it publicly available. The platform functions similarly to other Copilot chatbots, where users can ask security-related questions as well as perform threat analysis and investigations.

IN blog post, Microsoft revealed that Copilot for Security will arrive globally early next month. “Copilot is informed by large-scale data and threat intelligence, including more than 78 trillion security alerts processed by Microsoft every day, and combined with large language models to provide personalized insights and guide next steps,” he adds.

Copilot for Security comes with multilingual capabilities, offering support for 25 different languages. The company said language support is diverse enough to be ready for large geographic areas in the Americas, Europe and Asia. AI platform powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4 and Microsoft’s security models. The platform functions like any other Copilot chatbot and accepts natural language input.

The chatbot will come in two different versions — a stand-alone portal and a security product that can be embedded into an organization’s existing security system. The platform is designed to work as an assistant and allows people to collaborate with it. Cybersecurity professionals can enter their queries, request vulnerability summaries, submit files, URLs, and code for threat analysis, and even initiate investigations into specific incidents.

Microsoft’s AI platform also received new capabilities. It now offers custom prompts that allow users to create and save their own series of natural language prompts for common security tasks. It also offers integration with existing business knowledge bases and logic systems. In addition, the chatbot provides additional insight for security investigation or IT problem analysis of audit logs related to a specific user or event.

As for pricing, Microsoft says that Copilot for Security will come with a payment plan where organizations will only pay for the number of tasks they complete with the help of AI. The service will be billed monthly, with a minimum charge of $4 (roughly Rs. 331) for each hour of usage.
