There’s a lot to like about Microsoft’s Surface Laptop Studio 2, which is an extremely versatile system. However, the generally high price was one of our main complaints about the system last October. That sticker shock is a little less of an issue now that the laptop is on sale on Amazon. The price is there down $400 to $2,399. This is a new record low for a configuration that includes 32 GB of RAM, a 13th generation Intel i7 processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 GPU.
Microsoft’s all-in-one Surface Laptop Studio 2 has dropped to its lowest price yet for a configuration with 32GB of RAM, a 13th-generation Intel i7 processor, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 GPU.
These specs make the laptop more than capable of handling everyday tasks, while the included 1TB of storage should be enough for most people’s needs. You should also be able to run most current games on this PC.
Microsoft says the Surface Laptop 2 will run for up to 18 hours on a single charge, which is respectable. The system has a 14.4-inch touchscreen with realistic colors and a 120Hz refresh rate. There is also support for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. As for connectivity, you’ll get two USB-C 4.0 ports with Thunderbolt 4, a USB-A port, a microSD card reader, and Surface Connect for docking and charging.
We gave the Surface Laptop 2 a shot, praising it for many of these factors as well as its unique design. Since the cover is split into two halves, you can rotate the screen 180 degrees or tilt it down into a tripod. It effectively gives you the flexibility of a 2-in-1 with the power of a mid-range laptop.
On the other hand, the Surface Laptop 2 is bulkier than other 14-inch ultraportables, and you’ll have to buy the Surface Slim Pen 2 separately if you want it. However, the laptop should be able to handle most people’s day-to-day needs.
