A three-bedroom, two-bathroom Cupertino home that originally sold for $35,000 went for $2.32 million, underscoring the area’s continued competitive market despite the rising cost of selling homes.

The 1,666-square-foot home was built in 1970 and was one of thousands built by the popular Ditz-Crane firm throughout the West during that period. It still advertises one of the highly desirable floor plans of the time, which features a drop-down living room with a cathedral ceiling that connects to a separate family room. The property also features a stone fireplace and a spacious rear yard for expansion.

Rick Smith of KW Bay Area Estates was the listing agent.

The median sales price in the area is currently $3 million, according to Redfin. That figure was up 6 percent from the previous year, despite rising prices and interest rates. The area is extremely attractive due to its easy access to highways and technology companies.
