The company is witnessing a growing demand for high-quality Indian modules in the US
India’s leading module manufacturer, Vikram Solar, recently bagged a 350 MW module supply order from an Independent Power Producer (IPP) in the United States (US). The location of the project is Arizona and the modules will be supplied from India, said the statement issued by the company.
At the ongoing RE+ 2022 event in Anaheim, California, Vikram Solar aims to showcase its high-efficiency product portfolio suitable for the US and for customers in various segments – residential, commercial and booster; industrial roofing and utilities. The company says it is the first Indian solar manufacturer to be recognized in the PV Evolution Labs (PVEL) PV Module Reliability Scorecard in 2017.
Delighted with the order win, Vikram Solar’s Vice Chairman and Director, Mr. Gyanesh Chaudhary commented, “This is a testament to the quality, innovation, consistent performance and reliability of our solar PV modules. We thank our customers for their trust and confidence in our technologically advanced products. We aim to contribute to harnessing the solar potential of the United States and strengthen the nation’s energy security.”
He said that according to the International Energy Agency, in the next 4-5 years, the United States has the potential to add up to 20-25 GW of solar power per year. “We are witnessing a growing demand for high-quality Indian modules in the US, in line with the call for diversification of sourcing policies. Our established presence and experience in the US gives us a competitive advantage to take advantage of opportunities. We are focused on further strengthening our market share in the US and serving utility, commercial as well as residential customers,” Chaudhary added.
