Helen Kelisky appointed UK and Ireland MD at Google Cloud
Helen Kelisky has joined Google Cloud as Managing Director, United Kingdom and Ireland, with overall responsibility for the company’s sales strategy and continued development of its go-to-market sales operations in the region. Kelisky joins Google Cloud from OpenText, where she was Vice President of B2B EMEA Sales. Kelisky has more than 30 years of tech sales leadership, with a strong focus on cloud sales. She spearheaded IBM’s Cloud business operations in the United Kingdom and Ireland and more recently was SVP Cloud Sales at Salesforce. A champion of diversity, equity and inclusion, Kelisky is on the board of directors for non-profit networking group Women in Telecoms and Technology (WiTT).
Cloud expert joins Cloudsoft
Software and service provider Cloudsoft has expanded its management team with the appointment of Tim Shirley as Vice President of Software Sales. With more than a decade of experience in the managed cloud sector, he will focus on driving growth for Cloudsoft AMP, Cloudsoft’s digital platform conductor (DPC) tool, targeting businesses in the banking and financial services sectors. Shirley has significant business development experience in the cloud and data sector, most recently as Rubrik’s country manager for Scotland and, before that, at Proact IT UK, DTP Group and Hewlett-Packard. Shirley is both a Microsoft private cloud-accredited seller and an Amazon Web Services-accredited business professional.
Technology heavyweight joins Ascent
Ascent, the European digital services business, has appointed technology, engineering and consulting heavyweight James Whitehouse as Group Chief Operating Officer to lead its global operations and customer success teams. Whitehouse was previously a Board Director at technology and business consulting firm BJSS for 11 years during which time the business grew from 100 people to a 2,000-strong operation. Ascent CEO Stewart Smythe believes this experience makes Whitehouse the perfect match for Ascent’s growth ambitions. He said: “James’ blend of expertise in business transformation and international development will be crucial as we continue our European expansion. His consultative customer approach coupled with real technical depth and substance will help to deliver the outcomes our customers need. Beamy appoints Head of UK Sales
Beamy, the SaaS management platform for large enterprises, has strengthened its UK presence with the appointment of Dominic Howard-Noel as Head of UK Sales. Beamy was founded in France in 2017 to help large organisations tackle the dangers of shadow IT by detecting all SaaS apps being used across an enterprise and building a framework for decentralised IT governance. Gartner suggests that 30-40% of the IT budget in enterprises is spent on software the IT team doesn’t know about, compromising security, governance and compliance. Sharing app prepares for mega growth with eight senior hires
OLIO, the community sharing app that enables neighbours to share more and waste less, has recruited eight senior hires to support co-founders Tessa Clarke and Saasha Celestial-One as they aim to grow the app’s worldwide user community from five million people today to 1 billion by 2030. New hires include:
- Chief Brand Officer Iona Carter, former brand strategist and customer experience lead for Plum Guide and Sony Music;
- Chief Product Officer Alex Higgs, who previously held senior roles at JUST EAT, Tripadvisor and Confused.com;
- Alberto Lobue, Managing Director of OLIO’s Food Waste Heroes programme, previously leader of Deliveroo’s ‘Deliveroo for Work’ business;
- Tess Kermode, former Business Development Strategist at Uber, who joins as Director of International Expansion;
- Fabían Díaz, Chief Technology Officer, who joins from Amazon and will be responsible for trebling OLIO’s tech team from 15 to 45 people this year;

First female board member at Totalmobile
Field Service Management software company Totalmobile has appointed Chief People and Places Officer Gillian Mahon to its Board of Directors 12 months after she joined the company as HR Director and Recruitment Lead in March 2021. New Head of Regulation & Compliance for Glide Group

Workflo Solutions appoints first Sales Director

New Finance Director for Burendo
Leeds-based agile business transformation leader Burendo has appointed Sadie Alton as Finance Director. Shortlisted for the 2021 Northern Finance Director Award, the Newcastle University graduate joins Burendo’s 150-strong team from a competitor technical consultancy. Burendo, which specialises in empowering large organisations and SMEs to improve their agile adoption and delivery processes, was set up in 2018 by Gary Green, Glenn Crossley and Austen Bell and is on course to achieve £18 million in turnover in the current financial year. Checkit follows multi-million-pound investment with recruitment of Chief Product and Technology Officer
Checkit, the intelligent operations platform for deskless workforces, has appointed David Cottingham as Chief Product and Technology Officer, following confirmation of £21 million of additional investment in the business. Cottingham joins the Cambridge-based, AIM-listed scale-up from Citrix, where, as Director of Microapps & Integration Platform Product Management, he was the product management lead for 80 engineers in agile teams spread over three continents. In his new role, he will lead product development teams to continually improve the Checkit platform, which provides deskless workforces with a digital assistant that prompts, guides and tracks essential frontline activities. Realtime data (with optional plugins for sensor networks and smart building management) is delivered to management dashboards to enable continuous improvement in agility, customer experience, efficiency and compliance.
