OnePlus is expanding its Nord product range beyond smartphones with the introduction of OnePlus Nord Buds in the US and Canada. Genuine Nord cordless headphones adhere closely to the Nord formula used for phones, which means they have good low-cost specifications. Nord Buds are coming hot on the heels of the latest OnePlus Nord phone, launched in the US, the Nord N20 5G.

So what do you get? Nord Buds has a 12.4mm titanium driver in each handset, along with a total of four microphones and some special AI algorithms that OnePlus says will make calls sound crystal clear and as windless as possible. The buds are made of metal-coated plastic, which is the same process used in the more expensive OnePlus Buds Pro.

What you don’t get is active noise cancellation (ANC), but when you see the price, you’ll know why. However, this feature omission helps the battery life and OnePlus promises seven hours of listening on a single charge and a total of 30 hours of listening on the case. There is no wireless charging, but the fast charging system will add five hours of listening time after only 10 minutes of contact time in the box.

What else? They connect to your phone via Bluetooth 5.2 and can interact with the HeyMelody app for those without a OnePlus phone. If you connect them to a OnePlus device like the OnePlus 10 Pro, then all the features the app provides are part of the OxygenOS operating system, which means you don’t need the HeyMelody app. Nord Buds have a degree of water resistance of IP55, so they will be suitable for use in the rain or while running.

Back to the price. OnePlus Nord Buds are yours for only $ 39, making them a cheap option from a recognized brand with experience in producing wireless audio products. They will be released in June and will be sold through OnePlus’ own online store or through Amazon. OnePlus Nord Buds joins a variety of OnePlus headphones, including the Buds Z2 and Buds Pro, plus a seemingly endless list of genuine wireless headphones at competitive prices from other manufacturers.
