Oppo Watch X was introduced to the global market for the first time. The smartwatch has now been launched in China. It has some unique features, but also a decent design language. While the global and Chinese versions share similarities, there are a few exceptions. We’ll take an in-depth look at the Watch X below.

Oppo Watch X Design

When it comes to smartwatches, I prefer ones that look like normal watches. For example, if you see someone wearing the Watch X from a bit further away, it will be hard to tell if it’s a smartwatch or a traditional watch. This is achieved through a circular design housed in a polished stainless steel body. Therefore, the Oppo Watch X looks simple but attractive.

Speaking of controls, the Watch X can be controlled via 2 buttons: a rotary dial and a button on the right side. Moving on to durability, the watch has MIL-STD 810H certification and IP68 water resistance to a depth of 50 meters.

Characteristic

The biggest feature of the Watch X is that it gets up to 100 hours of battery life. Oppo implemented two operating systems in the Watch X. It has WearOS 4 and an RTOS (it runs on 4 GB of eMMC memory). WearOS 4 manages Google features, while the RTOS helps keep the watch powered on and manages background tasks and other essential tasks. Both OS run on different processors. WearOS is powered by the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip, while the RTOS uses a BES2700 chip. With this formula, Oppo managed to achieve up to 100 hours of battery life. The cherry on top is the fact that it can be charged in just 60 minutes.

Gizchina News of the week

Coming to the front, the watch welcomes you with a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466×466 pixels. Stylish display features include sapphire crystal glass protection, 1000 nits peak brightness and always-on display.

Speaking of internals, the Watch X has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

Oppo Watch X launched in China:

The device is equipped with an 8-channel sensor for monitoring heart rate and a 16-channel sensor for measuring blood oxygen saturation. These sensors provide continuous monitoring of heart rate, oxygen levels and stress. In addition, it has an extensive sleep analysis tool that includes an assessment of the risk of snoring during sleep. For fitness, Watch X has over 100 sports modes.

In terms of connectivity features, the device offers dual-band GPS capabilities (L1 + L5) and is compatible with a five-satellite positioning system that includes Beidou, GPS, Galileo, GLONASS and QZSS for improved location accuracy.

If we talk about the difference from the global variant, the Chinese Oppo Watch X features E-Sim support, which is missing from the global version.
