It’s Oppo preparing for a presentation its next flagship smartwatch. The Oppo Watch X will be the company’s next wearable running Google’s WearOS. Today, the company confirmed that the new watch will make its debut on February 29 in Malaysia. The Watch X is almost identical to the recently teased OnePlus Watch 2. However, the OnePlus watch will launch three days earlier on February 26.

Oppo Watch X is coming to Malaysia soon

The Oppo Watch X has the same design as the OnePlus Watch 2. So it could end up being a rebranded smartwatch for individual markets where the OnePlus Watch 2 won’t be launched. Hence, the Oppo Watch X should come with the same specifications. The smartwatch will feature a 1.43-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels. Under the hood, the device packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip and Google Wear OS 4. The Oppo Watch X will come in Platinum Black and Mars Brown color options.

Watch X has also passed the MIIT and 3C certifications with model number OWW231. Thanks to these listings, we know it will come with 4G LTE connectivity via eSIM. It will also offer 10W charging support, which is more than enough for its 500mAh battery. The wearable will run Wear OS 4 and come with a wide range of health monitoring and sports tracking features. Just like the OnePlus Watch 2, it should come with GPS for accurate navigation.

The Watch X comes with a round screen with a metal chassis that extends to the physical buttons. Right now, Oppo has only revealed a few images through its Malaysia. There is no mention of global variants or even European versions.

With just a few days left until the launch of the Watch X, we expect Oppo to continue sharing details to build buzz for the new wearable.
