A new Max Raid event takes place this weekend in Pokemon Sword and Shield and gives players a chance to catch another shiny Pokemon.
From May 19 to May 22, the Pokemon Shellder mussel will appear more frequently in the lairs of Max Raids in the three main areas of the games: Wild Area, Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra.
You will also have a chance to meet a shiny Shelder in five-star attacks. However, your chances of finding one are much lower, so you will need to be persistent and check as many attacks as possible if you hope to catch one before the end of the event.
In order for the Pokemon event to start appearing, you must first refresh your Max Raid lairs. You can do this either by linking the game online or by selecting “Get News from the Wild Zone” from the Mystery Gift menu.
Shellder’s brilliant event arrives shortly after the release of Pokemon Home 2.0 update, which added compatibility with the recently released games Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl and Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Players who deposit Pokemon from the aforementioned titles in the service will receive free appetizers of Sinnoh and Hisui as a bonus.
