Samsung has confirmed that several of its premium phones will support the popular mobile game PUBG at higher frame rates than before. The Battle Royale game published by Krafton is available for smartphone users on both Android and iOS devices. Until recently, the game supported a frame rate of up to 90fps (frames per second). With the latest update, the game can be accessed at a higher frame rate. Samsung has announced the list of smartphones that will support higher frame rate gameplay.
In a community post, Samsung’s official game optimization moderator, has confirmed that several of his phones will support PUBG at 120fps. The list includes the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23 series phones, as well as the book-style Galaxy Z Fold 5 smartphone.
In particular, with the latest update v3.2, PUBG Mobile wears several updates such as new items, new stages, new mechanics and new modes including 120fps frame rate support. Higher frame rates provide smoother gameplay, while lower frame rates render in-game action and movement jagged.
Samsung’s community post explains that the optimizations will be included in the latest Game Optimization Service (GOS) and Game Booster apps that come pre-installed on most Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
However, the publication did not clarify whether the support would later be extended to other Samsung models. For now, the optimizations are supported in the following models – Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy S23 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 5.
