The Redmi 12C was launched in China shortly before the end of 2022. The new budget smartphone from the Xiaomi sub-brand hit the market in China on the same day the company started selling its flagship Redmi K60 series. The Redmi 12C, unveiled as the successor to the Redmi 10C, packs a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC under its hood. The smartphone has been launched in three storage variants. The budget offering features a polycarbonate body and plastic frame, available in four color options.

Redmi 12C Price, Availability

The price of the recently launched budget smartphone Redmi 12C starts at CNY 699 (roughly Rs. 8,400) for the base model with 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage. The 4GB RAM + 128GB internal storage variant costs CNY 799 (roughly Rs. 9,600), while the top-of-the-line 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model is priced at CNY 899 (roughly Rs. 10,800).

The budget offering is already being sold in China by the company for purchase through the company’s official sales website, Mi.com. The smartphone comes in four color variants — Shadow Black, Sea Blue, Mint Green and Lavender (translated).

However, Redmi has not yet provided an official confirmation about the global launch of the Redmi 12C.

Redmi 12C Specifications

The budget Redmi 12C was launched with a hybrid dual SIM (Nano) slot. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 SoC coupled with a Mali-G52 GPU. The handset features LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 flash memory. The storage on the Redmi 12C can be expanded up to 512GB via a microSD card on all three internal storage variants.

The handset features a square cutout on the back that houses a single pill-shaped camera along with an LED flash. Adjacent to the camera module is a fingerprint scanner for biometric verification. The Redmi 12C sports a dual-camera setup led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor, while for selfies, the smartphone sports a 5-megapixel camera sensor in a small dewdrop design on the front.

The Redmi 12C arrives with a 6.71-inch HD+ (1650×720 pixels) display with a resolution of 20:6:9 aspect ratio and 500 nits of peak brightness. The smartphone has quite narrow bezels. However, the chin of the Redmi Note 12C is quite thick.

The device also features a 3.5mm headphone jack and a micro-USB port for charging the 5,000mAh battery. The Redmi 12C comes with a 10W charging adapter.
