The Redmi Note 12 5G smartphone has appeared on the BIS certification website ahead of its upcoming launch in India. To recap, Xiaomi recently introduced the Redmi Note 12 series smartphones in the Chinese market.

Notably, the Redmi Note 12 series sold over 350,000 units in just one hour. For those who don’t know, the Note 12 series includes the Note 12 5G, Note 12 Pro, Note 12 Pro Plus and Note 12 Explorer Edition.

According to MIUI tester Kacper Skrzypek, the Note 12 Pro+ 5G will be launched in India as the Xiaomi 12i HyperCharge. Now, the Indian variant of the Note 12 Pro+ 5G has gone through the BIS website.

First, the BIS listing confirms that the device has a model number of 22101316UP. Xiaomi is reportedly gearing up to launch the Redmi Note 12 5G as a Poco phone in the Indian market.

Also, the vanilla Note 12 5G could drop later this month. The Poco phone, which is likely to hit store shelves in India, was spotted in the BIS database by Twitter user Simranpal Singh.

The alleged Poco phone carries a model number of 22111317PI. The abbreviated model number of the device is M17. Interestingly, the Chinese Note 12 5G has the same abbreviated model number.

This is a major sign that the device will be launched in India under the Poco brand. In addition, a report MySmartPrice suggests that the Redmi Note 12 5G will launch in India later this month.

However, details on the Indian variant’s moniker are still scarce. However, this alleged phone could make its debut as the 5G-ready version of the Poco M5.

However, Poco has neither confirmed nor denied this speculation yet. Also, the brand has put on hold its plan to launch the Redmi Note 12 5G in India. However, Poco may be on the verge of sharing these details.

The specifications of the Redmi Note 12 5G smartphone are not a mystery. The phone features a 6.67-inch OLED panel with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood is a Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 SoC. Also, the phone uses a 5000 mAh battery to pump its juices. In addition, this cell supports 33W fast charging.
