The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G is one of the next mid-range smartphones that Samsung is expecting to launch. The company is updating its lineup month after month and the Samsung Galaxy M55 5G should be launched very soon. While we wait for an official release date, specs keep popping out of the shadows. today, extensive leak comes to reveal some of the key specifications of the phone. According to them, the Galaxy M55 5G is more than a rebrand of the Galaxy A55.

The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G will be equipped with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ 120 Hz Super AMOLED+ screen with thin bezels and a peak refresh rate of 1000 nits. The leaked images reveal the smartphone with a centered notch with a perforation for a 50 MP selfie camera. Moving to the back, the device adopts a raindrop camera design. The device has a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization. It also has an 8 MP ultra-wide camera and a 2 MP macro shooter.

Under the hood, the phone packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC with up to 12GB of RAM. The phone will come with either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. It will be expandable via microSD card up to 1 TB. The phone will also feature an under-display fingerprint scanner, which is not common in mid-range phones.

The Samsung Galaxy M55 will run Android 14 with One UI 6.0 out of the box. According to the leak, Samsung will offer it with a promise of five major Android updates and five years of security updates. Again, that’s a lot for a mid-range smartphone. The phone will, of course, come with dual-SIM functionality, Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band Wi-Fi and NFC. Finally, the phone will come with a massive 5000mAh battery with 45W fast charging. The charging speed here is the fastest offered by Samsung and is usually only available in the company’s highest-end flagships such as the Ultra series. So this is a first for the Galaxy M-series.

Unlike previous rumors, the Samsung Galaxy M55 is far from a rebranded Galaxy A55. The smartphone has a larger screen, a different chipset and lower-resolution ultra-wide and macro cameras. It has a higher resolution selfie camera and comes with faster charging support. The phone will be sold in light green and black colors, but Samsung will probably choose fancier names for them.
