At the latest Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung briefly introduced a new wearable called the Samsung Galaxy Ring. Today, at MWC 2024, the company officially announced it. But Samsung hasn’t gone through much detail about it. However, it’s true that we got more from the first time Samsung officially introduced wearables.

What we learned from the Samsung Galaxy Ring unveiling at MWC 2024
For starters, Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Ring will come in a wide range of sizes. To be specific, the wearable will be available in US ring sizes ranging from 5 to 13. These sizes will be marked S to XL inside the ring. As for the design itself, the wearable has a concave shape that tapers in the middle.

In comparison, the Oura Ring, which is one of Samsung’s current competitors, has a prominent appearance. Speaking of looks, the wearable will come in three different colors: platinum silver, ceramic black, and gold.
In terms of functionality, the Galaxy Ring aims to offer all the fitness and health tracking features of the Galaxy Watch smartwatches. This means you can track your heart rate, sleep, breathing rate and movement during the night with it. The ring also carries the ability to detect early signs of sleep apneasomething Samsung recently received FDA approval for.
Regarding the Galaxy Watch, Samsung says the ring will act as the right companion for the smartwatch. When paired, you can get better quality health and fitness tracking.
Samsung says the Galaxy Ring will be exclusively available for Samsung Galaxy smartphones at launch. However, the company has plans to expand compatibility later.
