Samsung is rumored to be working on a Fan Edition of the Galaxy S24. The company launched its Galaxy S24 series of smartphones earlier this year, and the Galaxy S24 FE, a stripped-down version of Samsung’s flagship phones, could arrive later this year. The Fan Edition phone has reportedly been spotted online, with the listing suggesting the name and model numbers of the smartphone.
Android Headlines has reportedly spotted the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE online, offering the phone’s manufacturer, market name, brand and model numbers. The Galaxy S24 FE is reportedly listed with model numbers SM-S721B, SM-S721U, SM-S721W and SM-S721N. The report claims that the upcoming phone will be officially launched in markets like America, Korea and Canada, in addition to being sold globally.
The listing does not reveal any other details about the Galaxy S24 FE, including its specifications and release schedule. Samsung has yet to confirm its plans for the phone either. However, several reports and rumors suggest that the company is working on launching the phone later this year or in early 2025.
A report earlier this week claimed that the South Korean tech giant is working on a new smartphone codenamed R12. The codename matches previous phones in the Fan Edition series — the Galaxy S23 FE was codenamed R11. Therefore, the R12 could refer to the upcoming Galaxy S24 FE.
Furthermore, the report also claims that the phone’s planned launch – previously thought to debut in the summer of this year – may have been pushed back. Based on the current state of development, the Galaxy S24 FE is now said to arrive in late 2024 or early 2025.
Earlier this month, it was reported that the phone is slated to launch earlier than the usual Fan Edition smartphone release cycle. The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE was launched in October last year, but its successor was said to arrive earlier in the summer of 2024.
Little is known about the upcoming smartphone from Samsung, but the Galaxy S24 FE was previously tipped to sport a 6.1-inch AMOLED display. The phone is expected to be powered by either the Exynos 2400 or the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, depending on the market.
Samsung is also reportedly preparing a Fan Edition of the Galaxy Watch, a cheaper Galaxy Watch model that may debut with a different moniker. The wearable device that is said to be in development could be launched as a revamped Galaxy Watch 4.
