SIT has partnered with the owner and operator of the Skyports Vertiport Infrastructure to deliver its digital solutions to Skyports Vertiport locations.
The partnership is designed to show how easily passengers can navigate the advanced air mobility ecosystem from arrival to electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL).
To this end, SITA will develop biometric and vertiport technology and integrate its Smart Path solution in line with Skyports’ vision for a seamless, technology-driven passenger experience.
Passengers will be able to book and book flights on eVTOL aircraft through a mobile application powered by SITA’s biometric capabilities. Once arriving at Skyports’ vertiport, SITA face capsules will identify passengers.
“Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) has made it possible to rethink the entire travel experience, from the vehicles we use and the energy sources we rely on, to the way passengers book and check in before flights,” said Duncan Walker. CEO of Skyports.

“We are partnering with SITA to move to this next crucial stage in the planning and development of the AAM industry – defining the end-user experience. Everything we do at Skyports is backed by the belief that there is a faster, smarter and easier way to travel. Our work with SITA will demonstrate how this translates into the passenger’s journey. “
SITA technology will be implemented for the first time at the Skyports Cergy-Pontoise test site in Paris, which is scheduled to be completed in 2022.
In the meantime, start eVTOL Overair has raised $ 145 million in funding from Hanwha Systems and Hanwha Aerospace.
With the funds, California-based Overair will continue to develop its all-electric experimental prototype, called the Butterfly, to fly in the second half of 2023.
“We are exactly where we want to be, building a superb aircraft company with class-leading mobility technology around unrivaled aircraft, while rapidly approaching the first flight of a specially designed prototype next year,” said Ben Tigner, co-founder and CEO. CEO of Overair.
“We have proven Butterfly’s propulsion system, so now we will begin to test Butterfly’s ability to operate safely in real weather conditions, carry significant payloads and fly incredibly quietly.”
