Tecno and Infinix continue their race to become relevant global brands. While Infinix is banking on impressive specs, Tecno is also trying to cater to consumers through design. Today, the company introduced a new version of its Tecno Spark 9 Pro. This new variant features the ‘Sport Edition’ and comes with a special design. Why is it so special in design? Well, the fantastic look is the result of a partnership with Designworks. For those who don’t know, this is the design innovation studio of the BMW Group.

Designworks was behind the materials, colors and finish for the Tecno Spark 9 Pro Sports Edition. The design is inspired by the “Ice Crystal Talisman”. The design is full of crystal references, and there is also an allusion to the BMW logo. However, this is not a clear copy, just an interesting inspiration. The diamond-like images on the back resemble some old Oppo phones from the past.

According to the company, the Tecno Spark 9 Pro Sports Edition is aimed at the young audience. Youngsters also have a good taste for luxury looks and are also fond of automotive products. You can check out Designwork’s description of the new design:

Gizchina News of the week

“Working together with a company like Tecno is inspiring as it gives us the opportunity to focus on another user experience – the phone. Although there is a difference in scale, one thing that phones and cars have in common is that they are extremely personal and relied on by consumers on a daily basis, and are also a means of personal expression,” said Andre De Salis, Creative Director, Industrial Design at Designworks. “

Tecno Spark 9 Pro Sport Edition Specifications

The design of the Tecno Spark 9 Pro Sports Edition is certainly the strong point of the phone. After all, the specs aren’t really impressive. Of course, this is the standard package you get when looking for a budget 4G phone these days. The phone has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD screen with Full HD+ resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it sports a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC with up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. This chipset is really old at this stage and we guess it is the Achilles heel of the phone. Anyway, if you are not a demanding user, it will serve you well.

The device has a slot for a micro SD card and a 3.5 mm jack. It has a 50 MP main camera and two additional (or decorative, you decide) 2 MP shooters. The dot notch on the front serves as home for the 32-megapixel camera.

The Tecno Spark 9 Pro draws power from a massive 5000mAh battery with 18W charging. The phone runs Android 12 with Tecno skin on top.
