Potential buyers of EV, pay attention – a new compact city electric car is on the way. Announced last week, the e-wave X has four seats, has recyclable bodyless polymer panels and is said to travel 240 km (149 miles) on a single charge.

Designed by German startup e.GO Mobile, e-wave X was officially unveiled in Berlin on May 6 at a public event sponsored by IFA. It has not yet entered production, so many specifications have not been published so far.

That’s what the company said there is stated that the four-seater had an aluminum space frame for both added safety and improved handling; a polymer outer shell that is completely painted so that scratches will not appear too much; LED headlights; rear view camera; intelligent parking sensors; and the ability to charge either from an 11-kilowatt wall-mounted fast charger or from any household electrical outlet.

There is no question of how long it takes to charge or battery capacity, but one charge should be good for city driving of 240 km – the last figure is probably in Eco driving mode, which is accompanied by Comfort and Sport modes. Its engine offers 80 kilowatts of peak power.

The first deliveries of e-wave X are expected to take place at the end of this year

The 23-inch (58.4 cm) wide e-wave X cockpit includes an all-digital touchscreen display; wireless charging of a smartphone together with a wireless connection for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; height and width adjustable steering wheel with three spokes; and a choice of fabric or vegan leather upholstery – the standard Isofix anchorages allow child safety seats to be attached to the rear and passenger seats.

Some of the car’s other features include hill-start assist; ambient light and rain sensors; integrated roof rack; plus AVAS (Vehicle Warning Acoustic System) functionality that generates external sound to warn pedestrians, children, etc. for the presence of an otherwise quiet EV.

Potential buyers can book e-wave X now, starting at 24,990 euros (about $ 26,395) – currently no information is available outside of Germany. Deliveries are expected to begin at the end of the year.
