The iPhone 14 Plus model could be unveiled at Apple’s Far Out event next week. Multiple other iPhone 14 models will make their debut at the event. The iPhone 14 series has been floating around the rumor mill for quite some time. It should be noted that iPhone 14 Pro models have been subject to more leaks than other iPhone 14 models.
It’s no longer a secret that Apple will unveil its long-awaited successors to the iPhone 13 series on September 7. Also, it will be a physical event. Word on the street is that Apple plans to ditch the mini model in favor of a Max variant this year. The device is also reported to be codenamed iPhone 14 Max and feature a huge 6.7-inch display.
An iPhone 14 Plus model may appear
However, a tweet from whistleblower Tommy Boy raises serious questions about the authenticity of the iPhone 14 Max rumors. According to the Twitter user, the iPhone 14 Max will not see the light of day. Instead. the Cupertino-based tech giant will launch an iPhone 14 Plus model. Additionally, Tommy Boi revealed Apple’s clear case with the caption “iPhone 14 Plus Clear Case with Magsafe.”
Also, the leaker spotted the website alias of an online retailer that sells the case for the Plus model. However, there is still no evidence to confirm that the case image reveals the official case from Apple. Meanwhile, a copy of the iPhone 14 Pro Max with an exclamation mark notch was spotted online last month. However, some past leaks have teased the existence of a Plus model.

According to 9to5Mac report, the alleged iPhone will be called the iPhone 14 Plus. In other words, Apple will ditch the Max model. Additionally, sources familiar with the matter confirmed to the website that Apple will use the Plus name for its upcoming iPhone. The report also suggests that the company has instructed case makers not to mention the iPhone 14 Max moniker.
Everything else we know so far
So this is a major sign that the next iPhone will not arrive with the Max label. It’s safe to say that Apple could launch four models at its Far Out event. These include the iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. Last month, a report suggested that the company had increased production of iPhone 14 Pro Max displays. DSCC analyst Ross Young predicts there will be strong demand for Apple’s biggest premium device.
The last iPhone with the Plus moniker was released in 2017 as the iPhone 8 Plus. Apple has since decided to use the Max and Pro Max names for its higher-end smartphones. So, there is a lot of hype surrounding the arrival of the iPhone 14 Plus model. The Pro series is also reported to offer 30W charging support. Additionally, the company may offer a 35W charging adapter to power the new iPhone 14 Pro.
