Sfera Labs has expanded its widespread family of Exo Sense Raspberry Pi based technologies with the launch of Exo Sense RPsmall form factor, multi-sensor low-power finite computing module built around the Raspberry Pi RP2040 microcontroller (MCU).
Ideal for indoor confinement with limited space, the Exo Sense RP combines the performance and flexibility of the RP2040 MCU with a wide range of sensors in a wall mount housing measuring just 80 mm x 80 mm. In addition to operating as a stand-alone peripheral computer multisensor module, a series of RP modules can be deployed as additional satellite units for complex Exo Sense networks.
As standard, the Exo Sense RP integrates temperature, humidity, air quality (VOC), light and motion sensors, a microphone for noise detection and advanced sound processing. In addition, peripheral and custom sensors can be connected via communication interfaces to expand sensor capabilities in areas such as CO2 monitoring, seismic monitoring (earthquake detection) and vibration measurement.
The new module includes General Purpose I / Os (GPIO) for monitoring external signals and control drives, while RS-485 and other digital interfaces can be used for system integration and communication with other devices, such as Wiegand keyboards and readers. cards. Warnings and status signals can be implemented via a built-in LED indicator and piezoelectric buzzer.
Fully CE and FCC compliant, Sfera Labs’ Exo Sense RP is suitable for a wide variety of residential and commercial applications, including home / building automation, environmental monitoring, people counting, room management, alarm reporting and alarm control. access.
The RP2040 is the first high-performance MCU designed by the Raspberry Pi and has gained a significant global user base since its launch in 2021. It combines a dual-core Arm Cortex-M0 + processor clocked at 133MHz, with 264kB internal RAM and 16MB built-in Flash. Extremely flexible internal input / output architecture and includes several standard interfaces.
With the standard Raspberry Pi RP2040 as processor, Exo Sense RP can be programmed in C / C ++ and MicroPython and is supported by several IDEs, including Visual Studio Code and Arduino IDE. All the coding resources, tools, examples, and extensive community support available for RP2040, as well as the open source libraries and applications developed by Sfera Labs specifically for Exo Sense RP, can be used to easily develop professional solutions.
Exo Sense RP can be equipped with custom brand options to support OEM requirements.
