Are you ready for Samsung’s summer volley of foldables, wearables and peripherals? Yes, it’s that time again, and the company’s Unpacked event is likely to share two foldable smartphones, a new Pro wearable, and possibly some new software tricks.
Judging by the leak, it won’t be a big shake-up, but the new Galaxy Z Fold may borrow design elements from the S22 Ultra, giving it a more modern look. The next generation Galaxy Z Flip, the one with the clamshell, looks even more like its predecessor, so we’re waiting for confirmation on what exactly has changed. It’s the series that’s helping Samsung sell its foldable family to the world—let’s hope the company has ways to capitalize on that enthusiasm. And throw in a bigger battery.
Samsung also looks set to unveil its Galaxy Watch 5 Pro next week. You might not get the notched bezel of Samsung’s previous smartwatches, but the Pro will switch from a steel body to a light but strong titanium one. Samsung inadvertently hinted at the Pro name in its Health app, though it didn’t provide any further clues.
Samsung Unpacked will air on Wednesday, August 10 at 9am ET, and we’ll be reporting live on all the big reveals. We’ll probably have some fresh opinions on foldable phones as well.

Sure, it sounds like some dark science fiction, but it happens. According to scientists, midnight on June 29 occurred 1.59 milliseconds earlier than expected. It was the shortest day in more than half a century. Scientists believe that earthquakes, stronger winds in El Niño years, the melting and refreezing of ice caps, the Moon and climate can affect the rotation rate. Some suggest that the Chandler oscillation — a small deviation in the Earth’s rotation point — may also have an effect.
