Qualcomm’s Automated Frequency Coordination (AFC) solution increases the performance and range of 6-GHz Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 networks. Turnkey offering, including both silicon-based and cloud-based services, AFC Solution provides a scalable implementation with an Access Point Agent (AP) and cloud systems that provide end-to-end validation and certification.

The AFC solution provides location-based power optimizations for 6-GHz transmission, allowing higher levels of Wi-Fi power to be used in access points and client devices. It is said to provide higher productivity and longer range, while protecting the group’s existing users.

Standard-defined interfaces support interoperability across all network deployments using the 6-GHz spectrum, including future generations of Wi-Fi. Products supported by the AFC service will be ready to operate in standard power mode after FCC approval.

Qualcomm’s AFC solution is now available for integrating client devices into the Networking Pro Series and Immersive Home Wi-Fi platforms. Once regulatory approvals are granted, the AFC solution will be commercially available for public use.
