IK Multimedia announced AmpliTube TONEX, a complete software ecosystem based on powerful new AI machine modeling technology that allows users to model their own rig and play, practice and record with thousands of pre-available ultra-realistic amp tone models and pedals.
The AmpliTube TONEX ecosystem consists of 4 products:
TONEX for Mac/PC
A revolutionary concept in rig modeling and the core of the TONEX ecosystem, TONEX for Mac/PC uses revolutionary AI machine modeling technology to allow users to model the sound of any amp, cabinet, combo or pedal (such as fuzz, distortion, overdrive , EQ , booster) and turn it into a plug-in, all with ease and sonic accuracy that’s almost indistinguishable from the real thing.
Not only can users share their user-generated tone patterns with the TONEX community, but they can also instantly play more than 1,000 premium tone patterns available on TONEX. They are painstakingly crafted by IK using his vast collection of the world’s most sought after amps and pedals. TONEX for Mac/PC works standalone, as a plug-in for all major DAWs, and also works seamlessly in AmpliTube 5 — with the tone patterns appearing just like normal AmpliTube gear.
TONEX has two main sections: Machine Modeller, where AI Machine Modeling Tone Models are captured and generated, and Player, where Tone Models can be searched, viewed, played, and customized. Player’s extensive sound editing section comes with full EQ, noise-gate, pre and post compressor, as well as depth and presence controls, high-quality reverb and VIR – IK’s Volumetric Impulse Response technology with multiple IRs per cabinet.
Thanks to AI Machine Modelling, amps and cabinets captured as tone models can also be split so users can experiment with their own IRs, or use IK’s VIR technology to access hundreds of authentic virtual cabs and IRs, for to complete their tone. All of this customization can then be saved to a preset tone pattern.
In line with all major IK software, TONEX for Mac/PC will be available in 3 versions — all with identical features but different numbers of Premium Tone models included. TONEX SE (200 tone patterns), TONEX (400 tone patterns), TONEX MAX (1000 tone patterns). A free version will also be available so everyone can experience the power of AI Machine Modeling to create tonal models.
TONEX application
TONEX for iPhone and iPad allows users to experience the power of AI Machine Modeling Tone Models on their mobile devices. It is available both as a standalone app and as an AU plugin for all major mobile DAWs. This includes the same Player section as the TONEX Mac/PC software, allowing users to play, practice and record anywhere. The TONEX app and Tone Model software library for Mac/PC work in sync, so the user’s collection of Tone Models can be played on any device, in the studio, at home or on the go.
TONEX in ToneNET
TONEX Tone Models will also be available in a new dedicated section on ToneNET, IK’s online tone sharing and social platform for browsing, demoing, downloading and sharing. Over 1,000 TONEX Premium Tone models will be available on ToneNET for instant demonstration or download within the TONEX software or app, depending on the version owned. New tone patterns from IK — and free custom patterns from the TONEX community — will be continuously published and available in real-time for an expanding repository of tones.
TONEX standalone, plug-in and app, connects instantly to ToneNET directly from the software or app, allowing users to explore the latest tonal patterns without interrupting their creative workflow. TONEX Tone Models can also be tried out on ToneNET using a simple online browser and selected for subsequent download into the PC software or mobile device app.
TONEX Capture
Tone patterns can be created in TONEX using a computer, an audio interface and minimal additional equipment. An interface like the AX I/O is ideal for tone modeling with its dedicated Amp Out.
To make it easy for anyone to create tonal patterns, IK’s new all-in-one TONEX Capture is an accessory that plugs into the output of an audio interface to feed to an amplifier at just the right level. The feedback stage sits passively between the amp and the cab, sending a perfect copy back to the interface at a safe volume without affecting the amp/cab interaction. The result is a clean copy of the real amp tone, ready for TONEX modeling without the need for microphones or perfect room acoustics. TONEX Capture also doubles as a great re-amp unit and includes TONEX SE with 200 tone patterns.
