‘Tram the Town’ repurposes movie studio trams for mobile devices – WKRG News 5

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A new tourist attraction for downtown Mobile could be ready by fall.
“City Tram” repurposes old film studio tour vehicles for city tours. Tram The city is in it children’s milestones – one step that could happen soon is getting approval from the Mobile City Council.

These trams are currently being cleaned and repaired. Once the painting and branding is complete, Tram the Town should be ready to roll through town. The vehicles are currently parked outside a downtown home while they are being worked on. They ferried tourists around Universal Studios in the 1960s. They could start working in October. Co-owner Scott Tyndall says there’s a need for something like this—families are always looking for something to do with out-of-town guests.

“Whether it’s a tour we create like a haunted tram or Christmas, a lot of the things we’ve done in the past, or we customize it to what people want, with these vehicles there’s a lot more variety in use cases Tyndall said. Tram the Town brings you some of the same people who ran the Gulf Coast Ducks in Mobile for a while. These vehicles offer more mobility than duck boats, they expect to have prices around $20 for adults and $10 for children. For more information, check out their Facebook page.
