Vivo has launched a new model in the entry-level segment. This is the Vivo Y18e which has previously surfaced online and received certifications. We can now take a closer look at the device, including its design, specifications and availability.

Design

From the back, the phone looks decent with its two circular camera cutouts. I liked the golden glow of the cameras matching the black color of the device. However, the front side does not hide its budget. It has a teardrop notch that looks dated for a budget phone in 2024. I hope Vivo considers using a more visually appealing punch notch for its future phones.

To keep costs down, the device is made of polycarbonate material. The phone measures 163.63 x 75.85 x 8.39 mm and weighs 185 grams. The Vivo Y18e device features a dustproof and waterproof body with an IP54 rating. The phone comes in two colors including Gem Green and Space Black.

As for the performance department, the device gets Helio G85 with 4 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64 GB eMMC 5.1 storage. The phone comes out of the box with FunTouch OS based on Android 14.

The phone is powered by a 5000 Mah battery with 15W fast charging. However, upon further investigation, we found that this device does not come with the charger in the box. Rather, the 15W charger is sold separately. This could be the beginning of the removal of chargers from Vivo.
