The railway technology company Wabtec has purchased the Colinins Aerospace ARINC rail solutions business for an undisclosed amount.

The acquired entity offers dispatch and back-office capabilities with fully integrated train control, as well as cybersecurity and lifecycle management solutions and control center integration and customer information tools.

Serves transit, regional, intercity, city, subway and light rail systems in the United States and Canada.

ARINC’s RailwayNet product offers connectivity to the integrated interoperable train management (ITC) network.

The ITC network allows PTC messaging, with full messaging functionality, back office, system monitoring, support, and operations center services.

Nalin Jain, President of Wabtec’s Digital Electronics Business, said: “ARINC’s railway solutions systems, together with Wabtec’s digital and electronics portfolio, will accelerate the industry’s path to optimizing rail transport.

“Our combined technologies will optimize the railway network and provide a railway ecosystem with increased productivity, efficiency and safety.

Earlier this month, the Canadian national railway company CN used Wabtec for its precision transmission system.

In April this year, Wabtec announced the acquisition of Trimble Beena Vision, a company that makes machine-based roadside inspection systems.

Wabtec offers digital solutions, equipment and value-added services for the freight and transit rail sectors.
