San Francisco: Technology giant Google has announced that its YouTube Music streaming app for Wear OS can now allow users to stream content over Wi-Fi and LTE. The company said that from this week, users will be able to stream music via LTE or WiFi, so they can listen to their favorite playlists wherever they go, even when their phone is not nearby. YouTube Music users can now share songs with Snapchat on Android.
Second, users can now add a new YouTube Music tile to their watch, which allows quick access to a recently played playlist or YouTube Music app browsing page.
“As a YouTube Music Premium subscriber, you will have access to more than 80 million songs and thousands of playlists in your YouTube Music app,” the company’s blog post said.
This standalone app is said to be YouTube Music’s first smartwatch app that allows YouTube Music Premium subscribers to download and stream music for listening without ads, even without their phones nearby.
The app also comes with a smart download feature that updates songs that users have downloaded to their watch when connected to WiFi. The app will even offer custom playlists based on your listening history so users can choose the perfect soundtrack for whatever they do.
